Werner counts on Ducksch and Bittencourt against Sandhausen

Bremen (dpa / lni) – Werder Bremen coach Ole Werner hopes that Marvin Ducksch and Leonardo Bittencourt, currently infected with the corona virus, will return to the pitch in the home game against SV Sandhausen. “It’s always hard to predict because you never know how someone will react. But I’m pretty optimistic that they’ll be available again against Sandhausen,” Werner told a news conference on Wednesday. Bremen will host Sandhausen after the international break on April 3 (1:30 p.m. / Sky).

On the other hand, the injured Ömer Toprak, Marco Friedl and Mitchell Weiser will remain missing. “All the injured do their individual program. But we didn’t see any quantum leap there. They probably won’t be available for us against Sandhausen,” said the Bremen coach. Goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka, who had to withdraw from Czech national team matches due to an ankle injury, should be back fit in time.
