Victim identified after fire with three dead in Bremen
Bremen (dpa/lni) – After the death of three people in a fire at a roundabout in Bremen, their identity is now known. The bodies had been autopsied, after DNA comparisons it was clear the victims were two men aged 31 and 49 and a 21-year-old woman, police and prosecutors said on Friday. All three died of smoke inhalation. According to the current state of the investigation, the three victims did not have a permanent residence in Bremen.
The gazebo at an allotment garden in the Walle district burned to the ground on Sunday night. Firefighters recovered three bodies from the destroyed house. A 29-year-old man was found outside the gazebo with minor injuries.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is difficult due to the extensive destruction and will likely continue for several weeks, the prosecutor and police said. Fire investigators brought in an expert.
