“Goodbye Germany” star Steff Jerkel lost 30 kilos in a very short time thanks to a bet. Viewers criticize the extreme TV emigrant diet.

Stephan “Steff” Jerkel, 52, has really done what seems almost impossible: the TV face, known from the Vox documentary soap opera “Goodbye Germany! The Emigrants”, lost almost 30 kilos in just two months and half. But the bottom line is serious.

Like a dream. The ordeal was worth it. Now I can go to the hairdresser,” says Jerkel.

A ‘Goodbye Germany’ fan criticizes the general praise for weight loss success and writes, “I just think it’s wrong to celebrate because it gives an image that says if you don’t agree, you are unruly and haven’t done enough [sic]”.
