Ukrainian authorities in Luhansk say: “The enemy has entered Toshkivka”

Ukrainian authorities confirmed on Wednesday that Russian forces are “approaching Lisichansk,” a city in Lugansk province (east), the epicenter of the offensive in recent weeks.

“The Russians are approaching Lisichansk and taking positions in nearby settlements. The city is being attacked with artillery and planes,” said the head of the Lugansk regional administration Serhiy Haidai in a message on his Telegram account.

She has also pointed out that “street fighting in Severodonetsk continues” and accused Russian troops of shelling the nearby cities of Sinetsky and Pavlograd.

“The Russians are trying to block Defense Forces units near Borivsky and Voronov,” Haidai said, adding that the situation around Popasniansky was “difficult.”

On the other hand, it confirmed that “the enemy entered Toshkivka” two days after the forces of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic announced their capture. “It allowed them to step up fire on other settlements,” he lamented.

“The occupiers are also consolidating in Ustinivka, Pidlisni and Mirna Dolina and attacking Bila Hora. It is not easy for our soldiers to maintain the defense of this area,” Haidai concluded.
