According to civil rights activists, more than 130 people across the country have been arrested during new demonstrations against the war in Ukraine. The arrests were made during protests in 21 cities, the organization Owd-Info announced Sunday afternoon. That number was expected to continue to rise as the day progressed.

Images and videos on social media showed police wearing helmets and heavy equipment dragging people away. According to Owd-Info, more than 14,100 people have been arrested since the Russian attack on Ukraine began on February 24.
For example, in Nizhny Novgorod, a city about 400 kilometers from Moscow, a woman was detained holding a blank sheet of paper. A video of the arrest was posted on Twitter.
In the capital Moscow, a popular tourist spot next to the Kremlin was cordoned off with metal bars, a German Press Agency correspondent reported. In case of large protests, hundreds of OMON special policemen were ready, some wearing bulletproof vests and helmets. Armed men were also seen in front of the State Duma. Many prisoner transporters were ready.
