Tiger parents in baby luck: Ströhen is happy about the offspring

Wagenfeld (dpa/lni) – At the Ströhen Zoo, the joy of the Siberian tiger cubs is great. A few days ago, tiger mom Amara gave birth to a cub, the park in the Diepholz district announced on Thursday. “We were very excited if Amara would accept her offspring and if everything would turn out well,” said animal keeper Jürgen Grimberg. “Now we can rest easy. Amara is lovingly caring for her first child.”

According to the park, mother Amara was the last tiger calf in straw four years ago. The park has not yet announced a name for the baby. “It will be a while before we separate the two for the first time to find out if she is a small cat or a small cat,” said zoo director Nils Ismer. The total population of Siberian tigers in the wild is estimated at 400 to 450 animals.
