Spring is the time for babies! In the Berlin zoo it can be seen twice and thrice, which is why in recent days many pups have been born in Friedrichsfelde.
The Thuringian Forest goats in particular are happy with the double increase. The species is considered critically endangered. The two mini goats are still a bit clumsy on their legs.
However, they are already curiously exploring their outdoor enclosure. Loco: Although both parents have brown fur, the offspring are black and white.
The maned wolves also have reason to be happy: two males and a female were born in November, the first pup in almost 20 years.
Now Mama Lucia went on a discovery tour for the first time. Maned wolves are the largest wild dogs in South America.
And the pampas hares (maras) cavort happily around their twin pups. The species is related to guinea pigs. Babies are born after 90 days of gestation.
The maras live in the Argentine pampas and are considered very loyal. They only look for a new partner when the previous one dies.
