The temptation of the Ballon d’Or… a French maneuver to deprive Real Madrid of Mbappé

The pressure on Kylian Mbappe, the French striker for Paris Saint-Germain, continues to persuade him to stay at the Parc des Princes for another year.

The 23-year-old has refused to sign a new contract with the Parisian club, which is trying in various ways to dissuade him from leaving, in light of reports confirming his intention to wear the Real Madrid shirt next season.

Mbappé received advice from the president of the French Football Federation, Noel Legret, who urged him to reject the offers he received from Real Madrid and stay with his current team, as he would have a better chance of winning the Ballon d’Or.

“I hope Kilian continues in Paris. It is better for French football to have one of the best players in the world, if not the best,” Legret said during an interview with the “Oest France” newspaper on Wednesday.

And the president of the federation considered that Mbappé “will have more chances of winning the Ballon d’Or with Paris Saint-Germain, more than if he leaves, because he always has to adapt to the new situation when it comes to moving.”

He added that “Paris Saint-Germain is still a great team, despite the tremor they are currently going through”, revealing his opinion that the Spanish league is no better than the French one.

And on the idea that he would play alongside his compatriot Karim Benzema at Real Madrid if Mbappé went to the Spanish capital, Legret explained that “they are two exceptional players at a technical level and they will understand each other well”, but he returned and stressed . that the matter does not mean, by extension, the need to associate him in a single team for it to be in the interest of the French team.

Mbappé’s contract with the French capital team expires next June, and so far he has rejected all offers of renewal for him, which increases speculation about his desire to leave Paris, especially since he revealed last summer that he wanted to sign for Real Madrid.
