Margaret Marley Modlin was the first foreign artist invited to exhibit at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, in 1978, whose prologue to the catalog was written by Henry Miller, a family friend and a character featured in several of the works exhibited in this exhibition. .
His work, adds Sala Retiro, would not have been known without the research of Paco Gómez, a member of the NOPHOTO collective who wrote his first book Los Modlin (Fracaso Books, 2013), now in its seventh edition, in which the story of the family mixes with that of the photographer through some echoes, coincidences and coincidences.
