The LaLiga Foundation has published its Fair Play Social Method Manual, a tool designed as a reference guide for foundation leaders, corporate social responsibility areas and professionals involved in the day-to-day management of CSR and sustainability issues.

The handbook summarizes 4 seasons of work in this area with associations and foundations that have enabled the creation of a tool hand in hand with the recipients themselves by actively listening to their needs, challenges and experiences.

It is a tool that addresses the keys and the entire process of measuring the social impact of organizations from the conception and planning of their projects to their final report focused on positive social impact and their measurement.

As the main innovation, the LaLiga Foundation has collaborated with relevant university researchers in the sector, from centers such as the University of Huelva, the University of Cardiff or the Ruhr University Bochum, which bring the most important scientific advances of this method to the Method Land.

In this way, the FPS method has become a system proposed from a social and impact perspective in the industry, trying to go a step further in integrating social projects as a key element in the business strategy of organizations.

In addition, the involvement of professionals and researchers who have analyzed these issues in other European leagues implies greater knowledge, experience and results that make the handbook even more valuable.

The director of the LaLiga Foundation, Olga de la Fuente, assured that it is a manual produced through fieldwork led since 2016 by her unit within the Fair Play Social project, essentially through the program “Social Responsibility” “in Home” with clubs and foundations.

“It is a work that emanates from collaboration and union in the social. An exercise in bringing order to the conclusions and results of all these years, with a clear view of evaluating projects and measuring results. As we say in an excerpt of the handbook: measure to grow, measure to believe,” he said.

The experience of the Fair Play Social team over the last four seasons and its experience working hand in hand with clubs have helped to solidify an execution system that takes into account the most varied of circumstances and has been grouped into a series of strategic axes.

The first, the diagnosis of the key players. The handbook addresses the identification, management and keys for internal and/or external actors to permanently engage in the organization.

The Identification of Material Information. Guidelines and tools are provided to specify the most relevant information that a club or organization should consider to be the most relevant information.

The implementation of an evaluation methodology for social projects. Important aspect to refine projects, optimize them and lead to positive social impact

After all, build to believe, measure to grow. It provides the key aspects to measure the organization’s positive social impact: identifying strategic projects to measure and the criteria to be integrated into the club’s overall strategy.

For the authors, these four axes are closely linked and almost naturally integrated into the Fair Play Social Method. The fundamental value of the project lies in the fact that it is the result of the strategy and field work with the target stakeholders. Its systematization in a manual helps create a situation map showing where the sector is and what the next steps are.
