The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation hosted the ministerial meeting of the second session of the joint committee between the United Arab Emirates and the Argentine Republic, at the Expo 2020 Dubai headquarters.
The committee was chaired by the Minister of State for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, Reem Al-Hashemi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Argentina, Santiago Andrés Cafiero.
Cooperation and Associations
During the meeting, they discussed areas of political, diplomatic and economic cooperation, highlighting the commitment of the two countries to continue expanding bilateral alliances in various areas of common interest.
The two sides discussed joint opportunities in the fields of energy, infrastructure, technology, innovation, development, food security, agriculture, trade, aviation and climate change.
Reem Al Hashemi spoke highly of the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and Argentina, highlighting the country’s enthusiasm for improving and developing means of cooperation, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields.
Memoranda of Understanding
Al Hashemi praised the signing by both parties of a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of the UAE-Argentina Business Council, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of advanced artificial intelligence and digital sciences, and a memorandum of understanding between the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture in the UAE and the Argentine National Institute of Agricultural Technology.
He expressed his gratitude to the Argentine side for its constructive participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, and for the great contributions made by Argentina during this world event.
At the end of the meeting, the two parties affirmed their willingness to continue bilateral cooperation in various fields, in a way that contributes to strengthening the bonds of friendship between them and achieving the aspirations and desires of the two friendly peoples.
