“The chest is wide”: Osnabrück is hot for the Braunschweig game

The 3-1 victory over Viktoria Berlin was essential for VfL Osnabrück. The game in Lower Saxony next weekend will be really important.
Osnabrück (dpa/lni) – VfL Osnabrück is still in the race for promotion from the 3rd football league. A 3-1 (1-0) win against Viktoria Berlin on Saturday put Lower Saxony in a position to move within three points of second place in the table with another win in the comeback match against Eintracht Braunschweig on the 26th. of March.
“Our chest is very wide now. We are very stable and we have worked in the starting position for the most important match against Braunschweig,” said coach Daniel Scherning. “We’re happy to have 51 points after 30 games. Not many people thought we were capable of that. We’ve developed well.”
The 38-year-old was particularly proud that his team recovered so quickly from the shock of Berlin’s 63rd-minute equalizer in front of 9,400 spectators. Aaron Opoku (73rd) and Sven Köhler (83rd) still secured a deserved win for Osnabrück. Lukas Kunze scored to make it 1-0 in the 32nd minute.
