  • Thales has been commissioned by airport management group SEA (Società per azioni Esercizi Aeroportuali) to deliver an innovative digital platform solution that will help the group optimize operational efficiency.

  • The scalable digital platform will aggregate and analyze vast amounts of operational data to create an accurate, real-time view of airport operations and help airport staff respond more effectively to unforeseen events or incidents.

  • The solution will be implemented in Malpensa, the largest cargo airport in Italy with more than 2,900 direct flights per week, and in Linate, the airport of the city of Milan, which is only 8 km from the Duomo and serves 47 destinations with 18 airlines.

PARIS, LA DEFENSE, March 15, 2022–(COMMERCIAL WIRE)–Thales will provide SEA with a digital platform for the Milan Linate and Milan Malpensa airport operations centers. Today’s international airports are highly complex systems that need to be monitored to maintain strict security standards, ensure uninterrupted operations under all circumstances, and achieve the best possible performance. SEA has started a continuous optimization process and is now supported by Thales on its way to smart airport operations. Thales will provide a range of tools to integrate all the data required for efficient airport management, with the aim of facilitating collaboration between all stakeholders and providing a world-class experience for passengers.

To help SEA Airports meet this challenge, Thales was commissioned to deliver an airport operations planning solution that would integrate SEA systems and data from the key processes responsible for managing the airport (runways, terminals and access routes) are relevant.

Thales will provide SEA Airports with its AiRISE ShareView solution, a comprehensive, scalable and innovative digital platform designed to handle the complexities of centralized airport operations.
The platform offers three important functions for airport management:

– a user-friendly, real-time airport map that creates comprehensive situational awareness for each individual service, facilitating quick responses
– A customizable dashboard with performance indicators for specific operations, allowing you to monitor goals and performance
– A workflow manager to automate standard operating procedures relevant to measured performance indicators.

In our connected world with an increasing number of data sources and sensors, operators are faced with a huge increase in the amount of data that needs to be processed and analyzed. The Thales platform will bring together this vast amount of data from different operating systems and generate a comprehensive, accurate and reliable real-time view of the situation, allowing all stakeholders to respond more effectively to unforeseen operational events.

“We are very happy to have been selected as a technological partner for a project as important as the digital transformation of SEA Airports. With our portfolio of airport solutions and our outstanding know-how in implementing airport technologies in complex projects such as New York JFK, Oman, Bahrain, Lyon or Geneva, we will provide SEA with a best-in-class and optimally tailored operational solution. will contribute to improving the operational efficiency of SEA Airports”.
