“Serenity” would be a cynical and inappropriate description in the context of war. But a recent survey by location marketing company Berlin Partner of its member companies has shown that the effects of the current conflict are “noticeable but manageable” for them, according to a summary published by the agency on Wednesday.

The survey is not considered representative, but between March 4 and 15, 114 CEOs participated, including an above-average number of mid-sized industrial companies, but also 39 service companies. Only 17 percent of companies reported a “significant drop in sales due to export restrictions to Ukraine and Russia.”

30 percent are affected by supply chain difficulties that, however, also existed before the outbreak of the war. Therefore, one third of the respondents expect effects as a result of the restrictions imposed by the SWIFT payment system. In six percent of companies, the crisis is having a sharp impact on the situation of qualified workers.

An undisclosed number of companies are worried about the supply of raw materials or fear price increases. At the same time, according to Berlin Partner, many companies expressed their support for the refugees, for example by offering jobs.

“The first results of our survey of companies in Berlin are depressing. The situation is not dramatic, but once again it is becoming clear that the effects of the attack on Ukraine have been felt for a long time in Berlin,” said Stefan Franzke, CEO of Berlin Partner. He welcomed the willingness of companies to provide support.”Once again, Berlin can be the city of freedom and be an example for the peaceful resolution of conflicts. The Great Russian Empire that Vladimir Putin fantasized about also fell in this city, along with the Berlin Wall” .
