Strike warning again at the Postbank
Hannover/Bremen (dpa/lni) – The collective bargaining conflict at Postbank continues also in Lower Saxony and Bremen with new warning strikes. Ahead of the third round of negotiations on March 22, the Verdi union called on workers to strike again on Friday. Employees at several branches had already stopped working in the Northwest and several other regions.
68 branches of the Deutsche Bank subsidiary in Lower Saxony and 12 in Bremen, as well as call centers, will now be included in the current round of protests. As of mid-February, some banking and postal services in the affected places were already down.
The union justifies the follow-up action with what they consider an inadequate rate offer. Parent company profits are high, as is inflation and thus more impending losses in purchasing power. Verdi demands six percent more money, with an absolute minimum increase in monthly wages of 180 euros.
Apprentices should earn 150 euros more and after the end of their apprenticeship
be employed at Postbank for an unlimited period. Among other things, a kind of corona compensation of 1,500 euros is also part of the list of demands.
