Seven-day incidence in Lower Saxony: sudden increase
Hannover/Bremen (dpa/lni) – The incidence of the infection has again intensified in Lower Saxony. According to figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the seven-day incidence on Friday was 1,683.2. This is the number of people per 100,000 inhabitants who contracted the coronavirus in the last seven days. On Thursday the value was still 1540.4. A total of 36,254 new infections were registered nationwide and 16 more people died. The total number of deaths from Covid 19 in Lower Saxony rose to 7780.
The hospitalization score increased from 14.3 to 14.9. This value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants with Covid-19 have been admitted to hospitals in the last seven days. The use of intensive care beds with Covid patients remained at 6.4 percent, as the day before.
The district of Grafschaft Bentheim recorded the highest incidence with 2,409.1, followed by the city of Wolfsburg (2,218.1) and the district of Hildesheim (2,201.4). Vechta district had the lowest incidence with a value of 662.5.
According to the RKI, the seven-day incidence in Bremen on Friday was 1219.8. A total of 1563 new cases were registered and three more patients died of Covid 19.
