Three weeks after the start of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed members of the Bundestag in a video message on Thursday. He has also delivered such speeches in the US Congress and the EU Parliament. The Ukrainian president is expected to request more support from Germany, financially and with arms supplies. 20 minutes are provided for his speech in Parliament.
Bundestag Vice President Katrin Göring-Eckardt welcomes Selenskyj. The parliamentarians respond with a standing ovation. Goering-Eckardt says: “The war has been going on for years. War creates suffering the extent of which we can only guess. This war must end.” (teaspoonful)
