Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) and the heads of government of the 16 federal states met on Thursday to discuss the current crises. The video conference is mainly about the far-reaching planned relaxation of Corona requirements, about war refugees from Ukraine and about rising energy prices.

The prime ministers are demanding that the federal government pay an adequate share of the care and accommodation costs of Ukrainian war refugees in Germany. This stems from a joint draft resolution of the state leaders ahead of their conversation with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), which is available to the German Press Agency. In the document decided jointly according to information from dpa, the heads of government propose a federal-state working group to clarify this issue. He is supposed to find a solution by the next prime ministers’ conference on April 7.
