The Berlin State Security is investigating an attack on a yarmulke wearer for bodily harm in the field of hate crime. A 24-year-old Syrian man suddenly took the Briton’s hat off at a hostel in Prenzlauer Berg on Thursday morning, police said.
When he was on the ground, the attacker repeatedly stepped on him. Then, according to the British, the 24-year-old asked him to shout the words “Free Palestine.” Around the same time, the attacker began hitting the 32-year-old several times in the face.
According to police, a witness saw the Briton’s yarmulke removed from his head at around 6:15 am in the hallway of the hostel. According to police, the 32-year-old complained of pain in his head after the attack. However, he denied medical treatment to the policemen who had been called.
