Samsung is expanding its ViewFinity range with the S8 model, a UHD monitor with HDR and a matte screen

Samsung announced the launch ViewFinity S8 (S80PB), A UHD monitor with HDR for creative professionals, available in 27″ and 32″, Pantone validated and with a matte, anti-glare display.

ViewFinity is the new name for Samsung’s line of high-resolution monitors, as the company recalls it is a statement recorded by Europa Press. This lineup will host the launch of the new S8, which stands out for being the first to feature a UL-approved anti-glare matte screen.

The Samsung ViewFintiy S8 is available in two models: one 27 and one 32 inch. Both have a UHD resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. In addition, it includes a color space of up to 98 percent DCI-P3 and a response time of 5 milliseconds (ms).

The 27-inch S8 integrates HDR400 technology, and the 32-inch S8 integrates Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) DisplayHDR 600 for “greater range, accuracy and nuance”.

Both models of the S8 have the recognition pantone validated, Therefore, with this matching system, they can reproduce more than 2,000 colors in addition to 110 skin tones.

This new monitor comes with a professional factory calibration for projecting up to 1 billion colors on IPS panel. This provides “more vivid color rendition and contrasts” when working on visual and design projects.

The South Korean company emphasizes that this new monitor is aimed particularly at creative professionals. In this sense, the S8 can be used as an all-in-one base for desktop or laptop computers, “simplifying” the workspace at home and in the office.

The S8 includes a USB 3.0 hub and four ports: HDMI, USB Type-C, LAN and DisplayPort. Thanks to them, the monitor allows data transfers at 10 Gbps, an Ethernet connection and a 90W fast charge mode.

Its compatibility with VESA allows users to adjust, tilt, rotate and swivel the monitor to find the ergonomic position that best suits their needs at all times.

The monitor has also received TÜV Rheinland Smart Eye Care certification, which adjusts the image to optimize its quality in any viewing environment contain an eye saver mode and technology flicker freewhich reduces the DC current of the screen’s backlight system to dim its brightness and avoid the flickering effect.

Samsung’s new ViewFinity S8 will be available from July next year at a price to be determined.


Samsung has developed and used a material made from recycled ocean plastics in the packaging of the ViewFinity S8 monitor to reduce marine litter and minimize its environmental impact.

This new monitor also includes the technology Eco Savings Plus This reduces pixel brightness in image areas with black pixels to reduce power consumption by up to 10 percent.
