Due to the increase in COVID-19 infections, the Emergency Operations Committee (Center of Excellence) Nacional has indicated that public institutions – through the Ministry of Labor – can reduce the ability of civil servants to carry out face-to-face activities and organize telework. This measure will be reviewed in 15 days.

This resolution will come into effect as of Thursday, July 28 since it will be the Work Portfolio that will generate the document. Other institutions were then urged to take the same preventive measure since infections were recorded in the cabinets and the idea is that this will be reduced.

Just six days ago, the Ministry of Public Health informed that Ecuador is going through a new wave of coronavirus in which even 3,000 daily cases have been exceeded. On July 18, the highest number of new daily cases in recent weeks was recorded.

This was part of the authorities’ statement regarding the epidemiological situation due to COVID-19 and isolation protocols in case of symptoms. Vice President Alfredo Borrero stressed, in this regard, that a massive vaccination plan will be promoted in collaboration with the private sector.

Use of the mask

Similarly, it was decided to maintain the use of the mask in closed places and where distancing is not guaranteed, in order to curb contagion.
