According to an ORF report, the hearing lasted about 25 minutes. The pope presented the princely couple with a bronze figure of one child helping another. Albert and Charlene, for their part, are said to have presented François with a print from the chapel of the palace in Monaco.
Last visit early 2016
Traditionally, guests of the Pope wear black in front of an audience. Although Charlene, like other royals and Catholic princesses, is allowed to wear white, during the visit the former South African swimmer opted for a black dress with a black veil. A chain with a large silver cross hung around his neck. Albert, meanwhile, wore a classic black suit with a white shirt and matching light-colored tie.

This is not the royal couple’s first visit to the Vatican, but the last was more than six years ago. Pope Francis received the couple, married since the summer of 2011, in private audience in January 2016. Albert and Charlene have seven-year-old twins, Gabriella and Jacques, born in December 2014.
