Robert Klages writes from LICHTENBERG:

  • Due to the conversion of the elephant house into the zoo, one of the last works of art by the Berlin artist Ortraud Lerch (1939-2013) is found unprotected in the open air. Isn’t the valuable mosaic “The history of the development of the proboscis”, which is one of the works that Lerch created for public buildings in the GDR, treated with the necessary care? At least it was temporarily exposed to the elements. FDP deputy Stefan Förster is angry about this and has taken the initiative to protect the artwork. More on this in the newsletter, other topics this time include:
  • Animated films against the Russian invasion of Ukraine
  • Lichtenberg Film Festival wants to maintain alliances with Russian artists
