Maybe he didn’t mean to, but former Carolina Panthers safety Tre Boston started a small fire Friday morning.

Now, to be fair, he never specifically mentioned the security he was referring to by name. Regardless, he somehow became Tyrann Mathieu and continued to grow. . .

. . . And growing . . .

. . . And growing . . .

. . . and gr. . . Hey, it’s you, Robby Anderson. . . ?

Well, to the disappointment of all the fans (and apparently the gamers), that won’t be the case. According to Joseph Person of the athleticthe Panthers have no intention of signing the three-time All-Pro defender.

However, Mathieu, who will enter his 10th NFL season in 2022, will be a catch for someone. The man affectionately known as “Honey Badger” is as confident as he gets, having played and started 79 of a possible 81 games over the past five seasons.

Furthermore, he has done so at a consistently high level. Between 2019 and 2021, Mathieu secured two of those All-Pro distinctions, two Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl ring with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Panthers, however, should be fine, as Woods is no slouch either. The newly inked safety was the only player in the league last season who was involved in every single defensive snap on his team.

He may not be a honey badger, but Woods is sweet enough for Carolina.
