Exit sign in Grünheide: Tesla’s new electric car factory near Berlin officially opened. The US group celebrated the inauguration of the plant on Tuesday with a “Delivery Day”. Tesla founder Elon Musk delivered the first vehicles produced in Brandenburg to customers.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) and Federal Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) also attended the opening of the “Gigafactory” in Grünheide in Brandenburg.

Brandenburg Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) said in Musk’s direction: “We did it together.”

Federal Economics Minister Robert Habeck sees the rapid construction of the Tesla car factory in Grünheide near Berlin as an incentive for future projects. “Of course, this short factory construction time may also be a requirement for Tesla’s pace in other areas,” the green politician said at the plant’s inauguration on Tuesday. “I’m working on it 24/7.”

Habeck recalled that the US company had started building before permits were available. “If the permits had not arrived, they would have had to dismantle. It’s a different bold corporate culture, but it worked.”
