New e-bike offering at Aldi: The discounter’s cheap city bike is good for that

Many new offers will start at Aldi on Monday August 15, including two low-cost electric bikes. There is a city bike at Prophete with 28-inch rims for 1,299 euros.

The Prophete aluminum city electric bike is available from Aldi for 1,299 euros. A good offer, because the recommended retail price is 200 euros more. Other dealerships do not currently offer the eBike.

The e-bike is equipped with a 250 watt brushless TRIO mid-motor that supports you up to 50 Newton meters. It’s decent and sufficient even in hilly areas. In addition, a 461 watt-hour battery is used, which accompanies you up to 140 kilometers. The capacity is okay, but you won’t reach the specified range in everyday life.

The bike is equipped with a 7-speed Shimano Nexus Inter hub and hydraulic rim brakes from Magura. In addition, a suspension fork from Suntour is installed. The e-bike weighs a total of 27 kilograms and has a permissible total weight of 140 kilograms.

All in all, you get an eBike that offers decent equipment and is also suitable for long rides. Above all, the mid-engine is not a given in this price range. Unfortunately, there are no disc brakes, but at least hydraulic rim brakes from Magura.
