Maritime rescuers rescue injured sailors from container ships

Bremen (dpa / lni) – Sea rescuers rescued an injured sailor from a container ship in the North Sea on Thursday. The 32-year-old Filipino man injured his eye aboard the German-flagged freighter “Kyoto Express,” according to the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS) in Bremen. The 23.1-meter-long sea rescue cruiser “Theo Fischer” approached the 335-meter-long container ship in the morning and took the patient on board. The injured man was taken to Bremerhaven, where the rescue service took him to an ophthalmologist.
