VfL raises 60,000 euros: Baskets fill the bus with donations

Oldenburg (dpa/lni) – The third division soccer club VfL Osnabrück has raised 60,000 euros for the victims of the war in Ukraine. “The money will directly benefit many people in need who depend on all of us for help in an acute emergency situation,” VfL CEO Michael Welling said on Thursday.

The Bundesliga basketball club EWE Baskets Oldenburg also wants to support people in Ukraine with in-kind donations. Before Sunday’s home game against Niners Chemnitz (3 pm/Magenta Sport), fans in the EWE Arena parking lot can fill the Baskets team bus with in-kind donations. After the collection campaign, the donations received will be given to the initiative “Oldenburg helps Ukraine”, the association announced.
