It is said that the doctor injected saline instead of vaccine
Gifhorn (dpa / lni) – A district doctor in Gifhorn is said not to have vaccinated ten children against mumps, measles and rubella, but rather injected them with saline. The general practitioner is therefore charged with joint dangerous bodily injury against children, as the Hildesheim public prosecutor announced on Friday. An arrest warrant against the 63-year-old man was suspended against conditions.
According to prosecutors, the doctor is urgently suspected of having acted in consultation with the respective parents between the end of April 2020 and mid-May 2021. The parents would be tracked separately. In addition, the man is said to have administered measles vaccinations in 31 cases, but never carried them out. In 32 cases it is said that he billed for services illegally. Therefore, he is also accused of issuing incorrect health certificates and fraud.
According to the prosecutor, the suspect has not commented on the allegations. Investigators learned of the possible crimes through an anonymous tip. During the raids, evidence was seized that generated strong suspicions. Nor can it be ruled out that more similar acts will be discovered.
