Other fires: burning cars and garage
Wolfsburg (dpa / lni) – For the fourth night in a row, vehicles caught fire in Wolfsburg. Unknown people first set a car on fire, then the fire spread to two other cars and a garage, a police spokeswoman said on Saturday. No one was injured. Several cars in and around the Laagberg district had been set on fire the night before. Police assume the fires are connected and are investigating arson.
A witness noticed a car on fire under a carport Saturday night. He alerted the fire brigade and the residents of an apartment building. One car was spared major damage, police said. Firefighters extinguished the flames.
A total of five vehicles burned at two locations in the city on Friday night. Four cars were affected on Thursday, one motor home and five cars on Wednesday. Investigators hope witnesses will put an end to the series of fires as quickly as possible.
