Corona incidence in Lower Saxony rises to 1400
Hannover (dpa / lni) – The rise in krone values in Lower Saxony has not stopped. The country also posted new highs on Monday. The seven-day incidence was 1,400.9 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants (previous day: 1,389.3).
The value of hospitalization also increased again, from 12.9 to 13.2. It indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants have been admitted to hospitals with Covid in the last seven days. The occupancy of intensive care beds with Covid patients also reached a record value of 6.3 percent – the country had marked the previous maximum in early February with 6.1 percent.
The renewed rise in infections raises the question of how the predicted easing of the corona virus will continue. The federal government plans to largely lift restrictions beginning March 20. Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) had criticized the draft. The state government wants to present a transitional regulation in the course of the week, which should apply in Lower Saxony until the beginning of April.
In Bremen, however, the seven-day incidence on Monday fell slightly from 850.3 to 842.9, according to the Robert Koch Institute.
