Hannover (dpa/lni) – Second division football club Hannover 96 wants to make the fight for promotion against next rival 1. FC Nuremberg as difficult as possible. “We are happy to play in such a team and our goal is to stumble Nuremberg,” coach Christoph Dabrowski said on Thursday. “Nürnberg have achieved three wins in a row in recent games and have therefore put themselves in a position where they have the ambition to play promotion.”
On Sunday (1:30 p.m. / Sky) Lower Saxony will receive the Franconians. The 96ers aren’t afraid of leading scorer Pascal Köpke, who went 1-0 in the last three wins. “The boy has had a career in the last few games, but Nürnberg also has other players besides Köpke,” Dabrowski said.
