The war has been raging in Ukraine since February 24. Hundreds of thousands of people leave their homes every day to flee bombs, tanks and destruction. According to the United Nations, more than two million Ukrainians are displaced. According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, more than 180,000 people from Ukraine have been registered in Germany alone.
Many of them want to find a job in Germany quickly. The EU’s mass influx directive, which was activated for the first time, initially grants them residence and work permits for at least one year. In addition, there are many people who are still in Ukraine and are looking for a job where they can do their work remotely. To support them in this, there are now numerous campaigns that help bring businesses and Ukrainians together. A little overview.
The Workeer portal has existed since 2015. The job bank is specifically aimed at refugees and aims to facilitate their access to the labor market. Workeer works closely with social organizations such as Caritas or Diakonie. In order to provide support in the current situation, the platform will suspend job posting costs for all companies between March 18 and 31, 2022, according to a press release. You can find more information here.
The “UA Talents” platform comes from two Ukrainian tech entrepreneurs based in Berlin, Ivan Kychatyi and Nikita Overchyk. They want to help people in Ukraine who have lost their jobs to find a new job. The offer is aimed at both refugees and people still living in Ukraine.
Not only German companies, but also companies from all over Europe should be able to advertise their vacancies there. According to a press release, the platform’s focus is still on tech industry bids. However, it is planned to expand the offer to other sectors. You can find the link to the website here.
Ukraine job aid
The “Job Aid Ukraine” platform has also been online recently. The job board was created by e-commerce expert Markus Diekmann and the “Handlers help dealers” initiative he led. All information on the website is available in English and Ukrainian. Companies can post their vacancies there for free. Before ads are posted online, they are reviewed by a team of volunteers.
“The platform is multi-sector, all companies, distributors, manufacturers, restaurateurs, farms, care companies, etc. can post jobs on our platform for free and people from Ukraine can find them there,” says Marcus Diekmann in an interview with the specialized magazine “w&v”. According to the report, numerous well-known companies have already posted a search ad, including SAP, Beiersdorf, and Hugo Boss. You can access the website here.
“Jobs for Ukraine” is an Austrian job platform for refugees from Ukraine. Here, too, companies can place a job advertisement for free.
