The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf celebrated the Day of Honor at Expo 2020 Dubai yesterday, Wednesday, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Council, Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf.
The Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Expo 2020 Dubai Commissioner General, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, welcomed the current Secretary General of the Council, Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, and former Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi.
The celebration began with the raising ceremony of the flag of the Emirates and the flag of the Council on the platform of nations in Al Wasl square, and speeches were delivered on this occasion.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said: “The content of the GCC pavilion is based on an explanation of achievements with an identity and history, and presents the historical legacy of the council and the foundation on which it was built, and the plans and projects in various fields, in addition to the aspirations and projects of the City Council in the future”.
He added: “We are fully aware of the important role of the Gulf Cooperation Council and its institutions in unifying efforts to achieve coordination, integration and interdependence among their countries in all fields, and we commend the flag of the Council of Gulf Cooperation, which affirms the common destiny and earnest desire to preserve the heritage of the Gulf, and work to strengthen strategic and fraternal relations for a better future.”
For his part, Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf said: “The Gulf Cooperation Council has demonstrated its ability to deal with global crises and urgent changes, and today the Council has become a pillar for security, stability and safety. of its people, and a leadership for comprehensive development and ambitious national visions, which puts us in front of a great responsibility to continue with this great construction and preserve the achievements reached during the blessed march, and we are all confident in the hands of our young people, who are proud of their ability to achieve achievements and successes”.
He added: “Today’s celebration of the forty-first anniversary of the establishment of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf has a special and distinct character, and why not, and we are eyewitnesses to a great world event, Expo 2020 Dubai, where the UAE, with pride and wise leadership, was able before the President of the State, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to demonstrate to the entire world the great and prestigious position that the UAE has achieved in its ability to host and organize international events and events with efficiency, competence and distinction.
