Fraport: the delicate business of Frankfurt airport in Russia – Economy

Let’s get out of here: many are leaving Russia right now. Westerners and Russians who do not want to live under the increasingly authoritarian regime want to fly out of the country. Ironically, the airport operator Fraport, however, seems to want to stay. The mostly state-owned company owns a quarter of St. Petersburg airport, a tricky investment. Because the WDR research and Suddeutscher Zeitung show that Fraport was not just an investor. The Russian war and sanctions are now adding to the explosive nature of this involvement.
