Berlin (dpa/tmn) – With an update, Apple has fulfilled two wishes of iPhone users that make everyday life with the coronavirus easier. On the one hand, the update to iOS 15.4 now allows unlocking the phone using facial recognition (Face ID) even when wearing a mask. But you must have at least an iPhone 12 for this.

On the other hand, digital certificates of vaccination, proof or convalescence from the EU can now also be stored in Apple Wallet in addition to vouchers, tickets, boarding passes, etc.: Simply scan the QR code with the camera and then in dialogue with The health Select the application “Add to Wallet and Health” and confirm with “Done”.

The update also brings new emoji like faces, hand gestures, and household objects to iPhone and iPad. If you want to share your screen and media content with others (shareplay), you no longer have to open the Facetime chat app first, but can start such sessions directly from the respective app.

Anyone who has not yet been offered the iOS update to version 15.4 should proceed as follows: connect the iPhone or iPad to the charger, activate WLAN, go to “Settings / General / Software Update” and then tap “Upload and install”.
