District Administrator Ambrosy new President of the District Council
Hanover (dpa / lni) – The district administrator of the Friesland district, Sven Ambrosy, is the new president of the Lower Saxony district association. At a digital meeting of the municipal association on Friday, 70 delegates voted unanimously for the 51-year-old SPD politician. Cord Bockhop (CDU) was also appointed Vice President along with Ambrosy. The 54-year-old is the district administrator for the Diepholz district. There were no other candidates. According to the district council, a total of 74 delegates from the 36 districts and the Hannover region were called for election.
Ambrosy and Bockhop are elected for five years until spring 2027. As is customary for the district council, those elected will change offices midway through their terms on September 30, 2024. The two district administrators will succeed the presidents. and former vice presidents, the former district administrator of the Celle district, Klaus Wiswe (CDU), and the former district administrator of the Göttingen District, Bernhard Reuter (SPD). The association’s presidency was also recently elected.
