According to civil rights activists, more than 600 people across the country have been arrested during new demonstrations against the war in Ukraine. In general, protesters took to the streets in more than 30 Russian cities on Sunday, the Owd-Info organization announced in the evening.
The Russian Interior Ministry spoke of around 300 arrests in the unauthorized demonstrations in the capital Moscow alone. There were also actions in Vladivostok in Russia’s far east and in Irkutsk on Lake Baikal.

Images and videos on social media showed police wearing helmets and heavy equipment dragging people away. There were also videos from inside completely overcrowded prison vans.
According to Owd-Info, more than 14,100 people have been arrested since the Russian attack on Ukraine began on February 24.
In Nizhny Novgorod, a major city about 400 kilometers from Moscow, a woman was arrested holding a blank sheet of paper. A video of the arrest was posted on Twitter.
