During the demonstrations that take place in Quito and in other cantons of the country, free mobility and transport were limited, which is why the National Transport Agency (ANT) is extending the deadlines to comply with the specific procedures of vehicle registration.
Scheduling is the method by which the schedule is established to renew the circulation permit based on the last digit of the license plate. To avoid surcharges, owners of vehicles bearing the number 5 must comply with this procedure in June. However, due to the current situation, the ANT has urged GADs across the country to exempt vehicles from the hourly surcharge, with the last digit of the license plate ending in 5.
The provision will apply only to vehicles by appointment, for the renewal of the circulation permit, from June 20 and will last until December 31, 2022. If, during this period, said vehicles have not complied with the mandatory process, they will be sanctioned with the corresponding $25.00.
In addition, starting June 20, no fines will be charged to vehicle owners who do not transfer their ownership during the 30 days allowed.
It is important to remind the inhabitants of Quito that in 2022 the only vehicles subject to the calendar, that is to say to renew the circulation permit in the first semester, are those that have not passed the technical examination vehicles in 2021 and therefore have not completed the registration process.
The Metropolitan Transport Agency reminds citizens that the renewal of the circulation permit, the request for a change of species and the registration of exempted vehicles can be done via the website www.amt.gob.ec.
