Frankfurt am Main (dpa) – The German stock market was presented this Thursday afternoon with moderate losses. The Dax fell 0.19 percent to 14,257.13 points.

The MDax of the medium stock groups fell 0.15 percent to 31,494.87 points. The eurozone’s main index, the EuroStoxx 50, fell about 0.2 percent.

Among individual stocks, Daimler Truck shares caused a sensation with a 6.8 percent price rise to the top of the Dax. They were reacting to a strong outlook for the truck and bus maker. Heidelbergcement shares ranked bottom of the Dax with a 4.0 percent loss. After billions in profit, the building materials group wants to pay its shareholders more and plans a dividend of EUR 2.40 per share for 2021, but analysts expected more.

Rheinmetall shares, as the leader of MDax, last traded 10.1 percent higher. Shares of defense electronics maker Hensoldt were again in high demand at 5.8 percent.

Jungheinrich’s admission that it might not be able to meet market expectations by 2022 further soured the mood of the forklift maker’s shareholders. At almost 12 percent minus, they were clearly the weakest MDax value. Competitor Kion’s papers also sharpened the decline, losing 7.6 percent.

On the other hand, shares of SGL Carbon fell 6.3 percent on a gloomy outlook for 2022. Investors also shunned shares of Krones, losing 3.6 percent. The board of directors of the manufacturer of filling and packaging systems forecasts lower sales growth in 2022 than the previous year.

The euro last cost 1.0975 US dollars. The European Central Bank (ECB) had set the reference rate at $1.0985 the day before. The dollar had thus cost 0.9103 euros. In the bond market, the current yield rose from 0.33 percent a day earlier to 0.38 percent. The Rex pension index fell 0.30 percent to 139.14 points. The Bund future lost 0.67 percent to 159.18 points.
