After a long period of hospital rehabilitation in a private clinic, Fritz Wepper soon wanted to return home, but put it off. The star actor, who survived a tumor disease, contracted the coronavirus.
A difficult year seemed to be coming to a happy ending for Fritz Wepper. But shortly before his planned release from the rehabilitation clinic “Jägerwinkel” in Tegernsee, the star actor received another piece of bad news. The 80-year-old man tested positive for the corona virus. The long-awaited return home has been postponed for the time being.
The positive news: Fritz Wepper has been vaccinated against Covid-19 and is currently not seriously ill. “Fritz is fine,” his wife Susanne Kellermann told “Bild” by phone. Apparently there is a corona outbreak in the private clinic in Upper Bavaria. Other patients are said to be infected. According to the report, they were transferred to the “Agatharied” clinic, 13 kilometers away.
“Your love saved me”
For Fritz Wepper, this prolongs a period of health problems. After emergency open-heart surgery in 2017, the star of shows like “For God’s sake” and previously “Derrick” had to undergo treatment for a tumor. After an operation, he was in an artificial coma at the Innsbruck Clinic. However, Wepper believes that he has beaten cancer for the time being.
In an interview with “Bunte”, the star recently confessed: “I am very grateful to God and I pray every day.” Wepper said of his wife Susanne and his daughter Filippa (10) and his daughter Sophie (40) from his first marriage: “Your love saved me.”
