ANN ARBOR, Michigan (USA), March 15, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Coretec Group, Inc. (OTCQB: CRTG), which develops engineered silicon, a lithium-ion battery pack with a silicon anode and 3D volumetric displays, supports passage of US Act US on federal spending 2022.

Coretec Group is pleased to embark on programs to increase energy efficiency, improve transportation infrastructure, and support the science needed to achieve goals in the clean energy and transportation transition. In particular, the bill provides funds for research and development to improve battery technology for electric vehicles.

In particular, Coretec Group believes that its advances in developing a silicon-based single-anode lithium-ion battery pack will improve battery cycle stability, extend battery life, and increase the ability to store more energy. The main driver for the development of the silicon anode was the 10-fold increase in the chargeability of silicon compared to a conventional graphite anode. The inherently higher energy density of silicon and silicon composite anodes will increase battery performance in applications such as electric vehicles, mobile devices and space exploration. The Coretec Group uses cyclohexasilane (CHS) and similar molecules to specifically customize the nature of the silicon materials in said anode.

“This bill provides funding for battery development,” said CEO Matthew Kappers. “We see opportunities for Coretec Group to participate in several programs highlighted in the Department of Energy portion of the bill, including advancing science, which is required for advancements in electric vehicles and energy storage in general.”
