A few weeks ago, a caravan of bikers went viral on social media with half-naked women, kneeling or standing, showing their breasts as passengers while dancing to music played at full volume from the vehicles. The police indicated that these caravans were organized and financed by Guido Guillermo O., alias Guillo of the Chonekiller criminal gang.
After seven months of investigation, in the early hours of the morning, the “Impacto 147” operation was carried out in the neighborhoods of 9 de Octubre and Nueva Prosperina in the city of Guayaquil who managed to capture 12 members of this gang. They were investigated for crimes including robbery, possession of weapons and selling drugs.
It was possible to seize firearms, $12,500 in cash, 38 nine-millimeter cartridges, 13 cell phones, two motorcycles, two vehicles, two scales, 600 grams of drugs and various documents.
Major Carlos Gómez, chief of operations of the Unity of Anti-Criminal Investigations (UIAD), said that ‘Guillo‘ would be the head of this organization and with the sale of drugs funded criminal acts and events related to the modification of vehicles and motorcycles.
In addition, he reported that a few days ago, 27 kilos of heroin were seized from this same organization and three suspects were arrested, a total of 15 detainees from the gang.
Police say they have not yet determined why these men and women took to the streets, but they believe the tours generated a source of violence.
