Bahn begins platform construction work at Wangerooge
Wangerooge (dpa/lni) – Deutsche Bahn is renovating the train stations on the East Frisian island of Wangerooge to ensure barrier-free access to the Inselbahn. Construction work started this week and is expected to be completed in early June, the group announced Thursday in Hamburg. Work is underway on both the island station in the center of the city and in the west of the island, where a new platform will be built. For guests traveling to the island at Easter, construction work will result in different routes, according to Bahn. The railway operates the island railway and also the ferry service between Wangerooge and Harlesiel on the mainland.
