Authority: Regional trains around Bremen still not on time
Bremen (dpa/lni) – According to a report by the authorities, the punctuality of regional trains in the Bremen metropolitan area continued to deteriorate last year. The most important reason is the overloading of the rail network, the Bremen transport authority wrote in its report on local passenger rail transport. In five of the six subnetworks in the region, the value has been below the promised on-time rate of 95 percent for years. The “Weser-Kurier” had previously reported on Monday.
With the Regio-S-Bahn, operated by Nordwestbahn, the punctuality rate fell from 94.2 percent in 2020 to 93 percent in 2021. At the DB Regio express junction, which connects Hanover with Norddeich Mole and Bremerhaven with Osnabrück, the value from 91.6 to 89.4 percent. On the Bremen-Hamburg metronome route, 88.1% of trains were on time, compared to 91.5% in 2020. A train is still considered on time if it is delayed by a maximum of five minutes.
