He says of Delgado that there are “notable aspects of his career that need to be appreciated”.

MADRID, July 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the United We Can group in Congress, Jaume Asens, has advocated giving the new Attorney General Álvaro García a “margin of confidence” following the resignation of Dolores Delgado, highlighting his progressive profile.

In statements to TVE collected by Europa Press, he explained that yesterday he sent a message of support to the former Attorney General, who has resigned due to ill health, and vowed that Delgado is a person “committed to human rights.” ‘ and that he had done ‘positive things’ for the public prosecutor’s office, especially on parity issues and in the ‘fight against Francoist crimes’.

“There are remarkable things in his career that have to be appreciated,” Asens emphasized, before emphasizing that he didn’t know the new Attorney General very well, but that he was Delgado’s “right hand man” and that both came from the same progressive association. “We trust he will continue on his way,” he concluded.

URGES THE PSOE TO INTRODUCE IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE FOREST FIREFIGHTERS

Regarding the situation of the fires, the leader of En Comú Podem expressed his solidarity with the family of the deceased brigade member in Losacio (Zamora) and the relatives of the people who also died from the heatwave.

In his opinion, the debate should now focus on the working conditions of firefighters who “leave their skin” to put out the declared fires.

Asens has therefore defended that “it is more urgent than ever to get the bill for the coordination and improvement of fire protection and extinguishing services out of the freezer”. Consequently, he asks the PSOE to promote these regulations and a special statute for forest firefighters who need more resources and put an end to their precarious conditions and risk of outsourcing.

And the president of the confederate group has concluded that preventing wildfires requires more public investment, more coordination, and even the ability to have a single command to coordinate all available resources.
