Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director General of the Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Abu Dhabi, and the Secretary General of the Emirati Competitiveness Council “Nafis” Ghannam Al Mazrouei, signed an agreement of understanding to award scholarships to study Bachelor in Nursing, Emergency Medicine, Higher Diploma and Health Assistant Diploma, from Fatima College for Health Sciences to the Institute of Applied Technology at Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, within 5 years.
According to Al Shamsi, “This agreement is part of the State strategy and the projects of the fifty-year plan in the Emirates, with the main objective of developing citizen cadres in the field of nursing, which contributes to increasing the number of citizens working in the health sector in the country, and in the implementation of the vision of the Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and its pursuit Its aim is to train and empower citizens to work in this vital sector through an advanced plan implemented by Fatima College of Health Sciences, as it has the leadership to implement and achieve the state strategy in these disciplines, in accordance with academic and applied curricula and high-quality laboratories and at the pace of the latest standards international systems and mechanisms.
He added that the agreement complies with the directives of the leadership on the need for joint and advanced national work with all the distinguished government and private agencies, including Nafees, to encourage national cadres to work in the health sector, through the organization of the advanced programs necessary to prepare and qualify the country’s girls, providing them with information, skills and knowledge that ensure efficient work in the field The various specializations needed by the country’s health institutions, and to achieve the main objective, which is to locate the health sector, which is of great importance in the national economy.

For his part, Ghannam Al Mazrouei stressed that “the Nafees program aims to improve the Emirati human development system and prepare productive and sustainable Emirati human capital in the private sector, to achieve the objectives of effective economic participation for Emirati citizens of a way that supports the country’s economy and contributes to advancing the wheel of integral development”.
He said: “Nafis falls under the umbrella of ’50 Projects’ programs and initiatives to achieve a qualitative leap in the path of development in the UAE, and its most prominent goals are to enhance the contribution of the national workforce to support the national economy, so we do everything possible to support our national cadres and provide them with professional opportunities in accordance with their abilities and desires, which will reflect positively on economic development, and the integral and sustainable development that we seek to achieve, and “ Nafis”, which is a priority for the leadership, provides many financial and non-financial benefits and facilities that help develop the necessary skills to help Emirati cadres start their careers in the private sector and achieve the professional success they aspire to” .
He added: “Through the memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, we seek to achieve our common goals by effectively contributing to supporting national cadre with professional and technical competencies and enabling them to work in jobs rewarding”. that provide lifelong learning and development opportunities, as the Council works with the Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, through coordination and joint cooperation between them, to participate in the realization of one of the “NAFES” programs, which aims to train 10,000 citizens in the health sector, based on the directives of the leadership, and given the importance of the health sector, in addition to promoting sustainable employment opportunities for citizens in the private sector. Raise the competitiveness of Emirati cadres, and propose training and development and professional qualification programs that help citizens obtain the necessary qualifications to work in the private sector.
He pointed out that the institutes and academies of education and professional and technical training that specialized national graduates in this field, managed to contribute effectively to increasing the rates of Emiratization in private sector institutions that opened their doors to new graduates of national talents, and benefited from their energies and skills, thus increasing the participation rate of the Citizenship workforce in the private sector, enhancing their contribution to the development of the labor market and equipping it with the best national skills.
