- “American Horror Story” is getting an 11th season from US broadcaster FX with more seasons to follow.
- It is not yet known when the new episodes will begin. We can probably expect them in the fall of 2022.
- Information about the cast of the new season is slowly leaking. Along with a few newcomers, we can also expect some familiar faces.
The FX series “American Horror Story” returns to US television for season 11. As with previous seasons, series creator Ryan Murphy and his team are keeping most of the information under wraps, but early cast members for the new season have now been announced.
American Horror Story Season 11: Launch
The exact start date for “American Horror Story” season 11 has yet to be announced. Due to the corona pandemic, season 10 was not released until a year later in 2021. Season 11 can therefore only be expected from autumn 2022. In Germany, ProSieben Fun broadcasts the series a few months after debuting in the United States.
American Horror Story Season 11: Script
Series creator Ryan Murphy is notoriously reluctant when it comes to “American Horror Story” themes, but in April 2021 he asked fans what they want for the future.
In a now-deleted Twitter poll, Murphy asked fans to vote on a number of potential themes, including Aliens, Christmas Horror, Bloody Mary, Piggy Man, Mermaids and Plague, as reported by US magazine DigitalSpy. Aliens were a big part of Season 10, so they might not be coming back anytime soon.
The last two suggestions that proved to be the most popular were Sirens and Bloody Mary. The problem is, Murphy never revealed which theme actually won the vote, and whether those results will impact Season 11.
Even if Murphy decides to use mermaids or Bloody Marys as the theme, those could be used in the American Horror Stories spin-off. Because in his original tweet, Murphy used the phrase “expanding the universe”.
According to US magazine Deadline, however, the first actors have now been spotted in their costumes. These seem to point to a plot set in the 1970s-80s.

It has now been confirmed that we can expect the return of familiar faces once again in Season 11. is at the forefront Zachary Quintowho starred in the first (Murder House) and second (Asylum) seasons of “American Horror Story.”
Billie Lourd, Patti LuPone and Isaac Powell will also be back at the start. Lourd starred in the past four seasons of American Horror Story and AHS’ American spin-off American Horror Stories. On the other hand, while LuPone starred in the popular third season “Coven,” we got to see Isaac Powell as Troy Lord in last season’s “Double Feature.”
Fan favorites Angelica Ross, Leslie Grossman (“The Good Place”), Cody Fern (“House of Cards”) and Billie Lourd (“Scream Queens”) can also be seen. However, Finn Wittrock is unlikely to be part of the cast as he stars in the new HBO Max show Green Latern.
Fan-favorite Sarah Paulson (“Ratched”) may be absent from season 11, however. During an interview on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen (via E ! On line) Paulson expressed doubts about his future in “American Horror Story”.
“It’s the first time in about three years that I don’t know. I think it’s probably my last season of Horror Story. I mean, I don’t know. Every time he [Serienschöpfer Ryan Murphy] comes up to me with a weird character, I tend to say, ‘Yeah, let’s go!’ But I do not know.”
Completely new will be actress Sandra Bernhard (“Pose”) and actors Joe Mantello (“Hollywood”) and Charlie Carver (“Ratched”). Nothing is known about the roles of the actors at that time.
