A 60-year-old Monaco embassy employee is said to have been punched in the face by a cyclist after an argument.
The stranger hit the 60-year-old man’s embassy vehicle at a traffic light in Schöneberg on Wednesday night after a dispute had already broken out between the two men, police said.
After a brief exchange of words, the bicyclist punched the employee in the face, after which the 60-year-old man fell to the ground and sustained a laceration to his head. The cyclist drove away undetected but was seen by a witness who confirmed the incident.
The employee of the Embassy of the Principality of Monaco arrived at a hospital for further treatment. The man does not have diplomatic status, a police spokesman said. A search launched immediately was unsuccessful. Investigations are ongoing.
